When I got out of the army, I headed off to college and got a degree in Computer Science. Now I really knew everything. I knew more than everything, because I had learned a bunch of computer-scientific junk about linear algebra and NP completeness and frigging lambda calculus which was obviously useless, so I thought they must have run out of useful things to teach us and were scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Aus Joel Spolskys Vorwort für ein Neues — scheinbar lesenswertes — Buch: Coder To Developer. Und zwar ein Buch aus einer meiner Lieblings Buch-Kategorien: Im Lesen wie man gute Software entwickelt und wie man der beste Programmierer/Developer/Software Engineer wird bin ich Weltklasse ;-)

Dabei steht schon seit Jahren auf meiner ToDo-List mal ein erfolgreichens OpenSource-Tool zu schreiben, oder ein Insanely Great™ Freeware/Shareware Mac Programm. Aber weder der Pragmatic Programmer hat mich, noch wird mich Coder to Developer da weiter bringen. So ist das halt mit Erfahrungen, man muss sie selbst gemacht haben.

Trotz alledem, Coder to Developer scheint ein interesting read zu sein, auch wenns nicht so viel helfen wird ;-)
